Woman with Puppy

She sits in her chair
Near the end of her day
In the gold gilded cage
Her place of getaway

A happy puppy in her lap
So frisky and smart
Her love for this creature
Emanates from her bright heart

And as the puppy becomes attached
To its new human toy
The spirit of the pup’s momma
Looks on with great joy

For momma’s own perfect gift
This puppy has found
A caring human to adopt
And with love they are bound
