Two Lovers Remembering When

There was a time, seems a long time ago
When we lived and loved and seemed in the know
We didn’t have much, but loved where we were living
All the tastes, smells, sights and colors were embraced as a given
 

But here we now stand in our new hi-rise glass nest
Looking down at once was where our life was lived best
Our world has so changed through its pleasures and pain
Yet fond memories of those days in our hearts still remain
