The Party

The usual “The Party” - you know the one
Advertised as a must with a guarantee of great fun
It starts out just fine with plenty of zeal
But as evening wears on it starts losing appeal
For as the substances take over and the mood starts to change
As bi-polar reactions are now seeming quite strange
Bringing forth inner beings in nightmarish states
Arrays of behaviors with negative traits
And the din turns confusing, a cacophony of odd sound
As you observe people changing in ways most profound
And as their faces grow larger and assault your safe place
You seek a quick egress to exit this place
Before monsters approach you to feed off your soul
And suck out your spirit destroying your whole
Smiles turned to frowns, any clarity’s done
Until the next party of guaranteed fun
