Octo
In the deepest part of the ocean many fathoms below
I looked up toward the surface and was startled by a show
Of a fully grown Octo staring right down upon me
With its big shiny eye, suction cups and lights to see
Its long tentacles reached out from this large mass of gray and red
Was it coming towards me to explore or perhaps envelope me instead
So I stood there very still and reached up towards the beast
A gesture of awe and interest or a quick, perhaps tasty, feast
A tentacle touched my hand and gently wrapped around my arm
But somehow I knew I was OK and that it meant me no harm.
Then as quickly as it appeared it disappeared through the sea
What an amazing creature and profound experience for me.
