Heartthrob

With innocence still intact and virtue so true
This fair young maiden’s tale is offered for view
So puzzled is she why she’s giving up her toys
Replacing their luster for the creatures called boys
With feelings so new and so confusing to her
She’s not sure of the reasons for her internal stir
New worlds are coming as she enters the fray
Maturity approaching with each passing day
Such a magical life phase, a magical time
Observed and reported in this painting and rhyme
