Darkness Comes

Darkness comes without a sound
To steal the light for those around
It doesn't care where light once shone
Once caught in darkness, we stand alone

Nowhere to hide while it runs its course
It keeps us locked down in pain and remorse
We hope and we pray as we want to survive
So we search for answers, ways to keep us alive

Because a new dawn will come to relight our way
And provide us with courage to embrace a better day.
